Bonding/Filling
Bonding involves the artistic placement of a white-colored material onto your teeth. These are most commonly needed when there are cavities (holes in the teeth). Tooth decay/cavities are removed and the dentist reshapes/prepares the tooth to be able to hold the material better. A material called composite resin are added onto the tooth and cured.
Composite resin come in different shades. The proper shade will be chosen to match your existing tooth.
It is a comfortable, painless, and quick procedure. Although the resin is hard and durable, bonding treatment does not last as long as veneers or crowns, and is sometimes stained by foods and beverages. The longevity of the resin depends on the heaviness of your biting forces and if you grind your teeth, your oral hygiene, and your eating habits (if you tend to chew on hard foods).
