Dental Implants
We provide single and multiple dental implants. Dental implants are used to replace missing roots and to support replacement teeth. They are small metal posts that are surgically inserted into the bone under your gums. The bone is left to heal and will slowly bond and grow around the implant. A custom-made tooth or crown is then attached to the metal post. This provides you with a restoration identical to your natural tooth.
Dental implants are beneficial compared to replacing missing teeth using bridges or dentures because they are more stable and do not affect surrounding teeth. Implants fuse to your bone, and prevent normal reductions in bone levels (which occur when bones no longer have teeth to support and are therefore no longer stimulated during chewing). Integration of the implants into your jaw helps your replacement tooth/teeth feel more natural. Many also find the secure fit more comfortable than the removable dentures or other substitutes. To be an ideal candidate for dental implants, certain conditions must be met. For instance, patients should not be smoking, and have healthy gums and strong bone structures to support the dental implant.
Please consult our office to learn more about dental implants and to determine if dental implants are a viable option for you.
